MANHATTAN — Her show may be called "Project Runway," but Nina Garcia could use a little work when it comes to her walk.
Garcia, who is a regular judge on the Lifetime television show, took a nasty spill on the slippery pavement after judging the “Project Runway” finale in the Bryant Park Tents at Fashion Week.
“Oh sheesh,” she said, visibly embarrassed, with a few scratches on her hands and her knees. “It’s OK. I’m fine.”
Garcia, a fashion director at Marie Claire magazine, was wearing a short black dress and black and pink stilettos when she stumbled on the slippery stone walkway on her way out of Bryant Park.
Heidi Klum fared better than Garcia — she avoided the icy path out front and made a neat exit through the back exit entrance of the tents into a waiting black SUV.
But CariDee, winner of “America’s Next Top Model” in December 2006, embraced the winter weather.
“My favorite part of Manhattan in winter is Gramercy Park. It’s beautiful," the top model said. "Right now, I love going to all the fashion shows, though.”
Kerin Rose, an eyewear designer for Rihanna, was too excited about the Christian Siriano show to worry about how her sky-high heels would hold up in the slush.
“I did all the eye wear for Christian’s show. I’m so excited," Rose enthused. "I’m going to cry when I see my stuff come down the runway.”
