MANHATTAN — Don't panic Manhattan, a Navy plane will do a scheduled flyover between 9:30 and 10 Friday morning, according to the NYPD.
The EA-6B Prowler, a jet capable of jamming enemy radar, will fly over the Verrazano Bridge and then head north along the Hudson River, police said.
Police issued the announcement in the hopes of avoiding the mass panic that followed an unannounced flyover during an Air Force One photo shoot in April 2009.
