MANHATTAN — Fresh off his hilarious decimation of Harold Ford Jr., political comedian Stephen Colbert was set to take it to disgraced Luv Gov Eliot Spitzer Tuesday night.

Spitzer arrived at the West Side studios of the Daily Show's studios, where the Colbert Report is taped, ready to take on any questions Colbert had for him.

When DNAinfo asked if the former governor was excited to be there, he replied: "Of course."

Big Think already beat Colbert to the punch by asking Spitzer about his infamous socks on during sex, so what gristle is left for late night comedian to chomp on during his tête-à-tête?

A good bet is the fact that the disgraced former governor appeared on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" on Feb. 12, 2008, the night that he booked his appointment with prostitute Ashley Dupré and the day before his career-ending rendez-vous with her in D.C.

Colbert made much of the coincidence of timing on his show the day Spitzer resigned, March 12, 2008, saying that he had been sandwiched between Spitzer's illegal activities — one of which was "a little game of hide the integrity."

During his routine that evening Colbert showed a clip of the media tracking Spitzer's SUV and then zoomed in to show a fake bumper sticker the comedian superimposed on Spitzer's car, which read, “My other ride is a hooker.”

The late night political pundit will be welcoming back Spitzer, a "friend of the show and Emperor's Club lifetime member" — the latter is a reference to the prostitution ring he patronized — at 11:30 p.m. ET on Comedy Central Tuesday night.
