MANHATTAN — Who's the name caller now?

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand has amped up her Twitter war against rival Harold Ford Jr., tweeting Wednesday evening, "Looking forward to the #SOTU tonight. If HF were here, he would probably be sitting on the Republican side."

Her message comes one day after she slammed Ford for his “name calling.” On Monday, he referred to her as a "parakeet" who mimicked Democratic party bosses. Gillibrand said that she wouldn't let even her 6-year-old child engage in such behavior.

Perhaps both politicians could use a time out?

Meanwhile, Ford, who met with Democratic Majority Leader John Sampson Wednesday, tweeted about Obama's speech: "Good luck tonight Mr. President! It's all about jobs and the economy."
