MANHATTAN — A friend of Minka Kelly is trying to play down reports that the she is tying the knot with Yankee Captain Derek Jeter.
An unnamed confidante of the beautiful brunette shot down tales of looming nuptials between her the Yankee slugger, the Daily News reported.
"Minka says things are great between her and Derek — and they're definitely serious — but there's no talk of an engagement," the friend said. "Minka has not been wearing a ring."
The celebrity lovebirds have been dating since May 2008, and were reportedly going to get hitched at the swanky Oheka Castle in Huntington, Long Island.
The hush-hush venue was the site of the Jonas Brothers hunk Kevin Jonas' recent wedding.
The reputed Nov. 5, 2010 marriage date would fall right after the World Series.
This is the second time the couple’s marriage rumors have gone bust. Back in August, rumors swirled in the tabloids that the couple was secretly engaged.
