A serial subway mugger has eluded police for months and now they're hoping the public can help track him down.

Th NYPD wants to question Rasheed Williams, 37, in connection with at least seven subway muggings dating back to January on train lines running along the west side of Manhattan.

In each case the suspect brandished a knife or pretended to have a gun, police said. Williams allegedly stole wallets and demanded his victim's give up their bankcard numbers before he exited the trains.

Williams is described as a 6-foot-1 black male with a medium build and black hair. Police said he wore a black cap with a black logo on the front.

The muggings have occurred at all hours of the day. The victim's ages ranged from 20s to 60s, with five of them being women.

At least three victims sustained minor injuries, according to police. One woman initially refused to give up her bank card and was punched in the face on a Southbound A train on June 7, police said. She suffered a cut on her left cheek and a black eye.

Police are encouraging anyone with information to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. Tipsters can also log on to www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or text their tips to TIP577.
