TV actress had brush with Essex House killer

President Obama showed his funny side on CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" Monday night.

Boos poured out in Lincoln Center after the Metropolitan Opera gala opening night performance of Puccini’s “Tosca," the New York Times reported. The boos were directed at Met director Luc Bondy who revamped the production to the apparent dismay of certain fans.

The Emmys, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, received a ratings boost, according to the Nieslen Company.

The "Good Wife" teen actress Makenzie Vega may have had a brush with the Essex House killer. She had been staying in the room directly above the one where the murder had took plae.

Oliver Stone's "South of the Border" is a last-minute entry into a pre-screening for New York Film Festival taking place this week.

Pearl Jam's new CD "Backspacer" is out. The Daily News reports the band has "lightened up" some of its signature style.
