Rolando Aviles and Yuri Cortes of the Costa Rican newspaper Al Dia said bodyguards for the couple shot at their car, barely missing their heads. The incident occurred after the photographers refused to give up their camera.

The suit, filed Tuesday in Manhattan federal court, accuses Brady and Bundchen of negligently hiring security for a party in April.

Representatives for both Brady and Bundchen declined comment.

Brady played football at the University of Michigan before getting drafted by the New England Patriots in 2000 and eventually leading them to three Super Bowl victories.

The Brazilian-born Bundchen is the highest-paid model in the world, according to Forbes. She has graced the covers of Vogue, ELLE, Allure and Harper's Bazaar, among others.

The couple was married in February. They are expecting their first child in December.
