MANHATTAN — Talk about taking a bite out of crime.

A snacking straphanger was caught on tape defusing a fight on the 6 train by stepping in between two quarreling passengers.

The incident, caught on camera and posted to YouTube on April 2, shows a man and woman exchanging kicks and shoves inside a crowded subway car before the noshing peacemaker intervenes.

The munching mediator nonchalantly walks in between the pair, barely wavering as he focuses on downing chips from a bag in his hand.

The ordeal, reported by Animal New York, earned the mysterious muncher acclaim from YouTube commenters, who called him a “hero” for his act of gustatory guardianship.

“Thank you snackmaster, your crusade to end violence through harmless snacking is a credit to snack foods everywhere!” one commenter wrote.

“I imagine if there is a fight going on the city calls Snackman for help, much like the Bat-Signal, but in the shape of a pretzel,” another added.

The video has been viewed nearly 152,000 times since it was posted last Monday.

Most found humor in the man’s dedication to his meal, despite the violent circumstances.

“That was the most badass nonchalant thing I've ever seen anyone do,” a commenter said.

“SnackMan's sidekick is Little Debbie,” another joked.

The MTA referred comments to the NYPD, which did not immediately have information on the incident.
