GRAMERCY PARK — A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle and critically injured on Second Avenue Friday, officials said.
The cyclist, a 23-year-old man, was riding his bike south on Second Avenue about 9:48 a.m. when a vehicle turning left in front of him onto East 18th Street forced him to brake hard, police said.
The cyclist fell off his bike and was then struck by a second vehicle, police said.
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene and were not immediately charged, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
