MANHATTAN — Big Blue fans are supersizing their snacks for Sunday's game.
The Super Bowl is as much about food as football, and this year's Giants and New England Patriots match-up has inspired food shops, grocery stores and bakeries across the city to offer huge specials and platters.
DNAinfo has scoured the city to find everything needed to serve up an epic meal for the big game.
For true New York meat lovers, Katz's Delicatessen has an $89 Super Bowl package that should feed six hungry fans.
The carnivore's delight includes a pound of pastrami, a pound of corned beef, six hot dogs, rye bread, a pound of sauerkraut and a pound of mustard. There's also a choice of chili or one of the deli's famous hard salamis.
"It's so people can make their own huge sandwiches," a Katz's employee said. "They get to bring the deli home."
If beef isn't your thing, Pescatore at Grand Central Station is offering a massive shrimp platter with seared shrimp, grilled shrimp, and coconut shrimp — along with a heaping vat of cocktail sauce — for $79.99. The seafood joint is also selling a platter of lobster puffs for folks who want to class up a Super Bowl party, but both need to be ordered at least 24 hours in advance.
"When you ask a New Yorker to pre-order, you have a better shot of asking for their first born," said Pescatore's co-owner, Glenn Licht.
"Everybody's waiting to the last minute for everything."
Bakery Grandaisy has their own pre-order special for Super Bowl Sunday. For the big game, they're offering all their pizzas for $22. The huge football-field shaped pizzas can be delivered as-is or cut into bite-sized pieces for maximum enjoyment.
Zabar's, the granddaddy of Upper West Side gourmet grocery stores, has a bunch of Super Bowl specials from their huge prepared food counter, including pigs in blankets, buffalo wings and chicken nuggets.
But the main event, according to general manager Scott Goldshine, is the Zabar's three-foot hero.
"They'll sell really well," he said. "It's a big day, and they're big."
Ranging from $59.95 to $69.95, the sandwiches serve 10-12 guests and come in three types, including the Adrian — a combination of buffalo chicken, porchetta, salami, ham, and pepper jack cheese.
Getting into some sweeter selections, Li-Lac Chocolates is offering life-sized chocolate footballs for $75 a piece. These nearly solid desserts are made from 3.5 pounds of pure milk chocolate. The shop is offering smaller versions for $13.
Also at Grand Central Station, Eli's Bread and Pastry is selling hand-made cookies in the shape of Giants and Patriots players, cheerleaders and referees for $9.95 to $19.99 each.
"You can buy the entire Giants team in cookie form," said Norman Einerson, 43, admiring the huge display at Eli's while shopping for his own party on Thursday. "I may just go for the defensive line, though."
Further downtown, Tribeca Treats has a lot riding on their cookies. For the past four years, the bakery has sold cookies supporting both teams in the Super Bowl.
The team that's sold the most cookies has always gone on to win the championship.
"There are definitely more Giants fans in this city," said Michele O'Hara, the shop's manager. "Now they have to win to keep our streak up."
The bakery's sold quite a few of the $3 cookies — a customer recently bought a huge, 530-cookie order of Giants treats.
"It's mostly been huge orders," said O'Hara.
"It's been giant."
