Lady Gaga, Mayor Bloomberg Share New Year's Kiss to Ring in 2012

TIMES SQUARE — This was no Bad Romance.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Lady Gaga shared a New Year's smooch to ring in 2012 — uniting the pop megastar and billionaire politician at the lips in Times Square, as hundreds of thousands joined in the celebration.

“Dancing in the new year with the one and only @ladygaga,” Bloomberg tweeted shortly after midnight, accompanied by a picture of the couple swaying hand in hand.

The moment was not lost on Gaga, who wore a sparkling silver dress and matching mask as she planted one on Mayor Mike at the Crossroads of the World.

“I cant even quite describe what tonight felt like,” she tweeted a couple hours after the celebration. “Sort of poetic madness. A dream come true.”

The native Manhattanite also offered a kiss to Hizzoner’s girlfriend, Diana Taylor, after sending the crowd into a frenzy while performing hits like “Born This Way” onstage.

She was also joined by heartthrob Justin Bieber , Cee Lo Green and legendary guitarist Carlos Santana in playing at the most famous New Year’s party in the world.

Revelers from as far away as Columbia and Kazakhstan packed into Times Square for the massive party, ushering in 2012 with some smooching of their own.

Some even took things a step further, using the festivities to pop the question on the Great White Way.

"What better place to propose than Times Square in New York City," said Chris Okrongly, 27, of New Jersey, who successfully proposed to his girlfriend, Allie Stark, 21, of Port Jefferson, Long Island.
