MANHATTAN — A deputy press secretary at the city’s Office of Emergency Management was arrested for DWI late Wednesday night and has been suspended without pay, officials said.
Seth Andrews, 35, was arrested in Manhattan at approximately 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and charged with DWI and refusing to take a breath test, police said.
Andrews "has been suspended without pay pending further review,” OEM Press Secretary Chris Gilbride said in a statement.
Police declined to provide additional details about the arrest, including why he was flagged by police and where in Manhattan he was driving.
Andrews has held his current post for three years, according to his LinkedIn profile. He previously worked for Warner Bros.
Former Deputy Mayor Stephen Goldsmith resigned earlier this year after he was arrested on domestic violence charges in Washington D.C. The Bloomberg administration did not disclose the real reason for his departure until reports of his arrest emerged in the news.
The NYPD makes public all arrests of city employees that occur in the city.
