EAST VILLAGE — A fire broke out in an eighth-floor apartment in a residential high-rise building on Avenue D Friday morning, the FDNY said.
Firefighters were called to the 15-story building at 40 Avenue D at 5:43 a.m. Friday.
The blaze took 30 minutes to bring under control, and nobody was hurt, the FDNY added.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
