CENTRAL PARK — A baby sea lion named "Bruiser" is the newest resident of the Central Park Zoo, officials announced on Monday.

The California sea lion pup, weighing in at 90 pounds, was born in the Bronx zoo last year.

Bruiser is packing on two to three pounds a week and could weigh up to as much as 900 pounds when he reaches adulthood.

The pup was staying at the New York Aquarium until his transfer to the Central Park Zoo, where he joins sea lions April and Scooter.

Wildlife Conservation Society animal keepers said Bruiser is doing very well in his new home and is participating in a "basic sea lion enrichment and training" program.
