Artist "NME," real name Sean Griffin, is curating the artwork at St. Johns Place and Washington Avenue.
The large street painting by local artist Mike Perry was gone as of Wednesday.
The project features pieces by well-known street artists Queen Andrea and Cope2.
The colorful mural was painted over within the last two weeks, the landlord said.
The painting went up this week on a sneaker shop's rolldown gate on Flatbush Avenue and Maple Street.
Work on the tunnel will begin on Monday and be completed by May 19, the DOT said.
The mural on Post Avenue is steps from where John Collado was shot by an undercover officer.
The DOT is looking for five artists to paint murals as part of an ongoing effort to improve the space.
Danielle Mastrion plans to paint a mural of Biggie Smalls as a kid growing up in the neighhborhood.
The building is proposed for an empty lot next to the "Great Wall of Brooklyn" mural in Fort Greene.
Local muralist Kwenci Jones is soliciting $4,000 from residents to restore the public artwork.
