A retrospective of Yayoi Kusama, one of Japan's most prominent contemporary artists, is at the Whitney Museum of American Art until Sep. 30.

Kusama works in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, film and performance. She is known for use of dense patterns of polka dots and nets.

The Whitney is open on Fridays from 1 p.m until 9 p.m., and every other day from Wed. through Sun. from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
