The Staten Island Museum will host a day of family events to help kick off their exhibit on the 17-year return of cicadas to the borough.
"They're Baaack! Return of the 17-year Cicadas," will feature real bugs, art, films, cicada memorbilla and answer common questions about the insect.
The scheduled events for the family day are:
10:00 a.m. — Jr. Science Club — Cicadas! ($8/$5 Museum Members)
1:00-4:00 p.m. — a gallery workshop on cicada oragami, make cicada headgear, and looking closely with microscopes and magnifiers.
2:00 p.m. — Cicada Talk: "They're Coming"
1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. — "Cicada Princess," a new stop-animation puppet film
3:30 p.m. — Museum's Store Cicada Raffel
Regular museum admission applies, plus $2 materials fee for participants.
