Israel Film Center presents "The World is Funny," the opening night screening of the Israel Film Center Festival, at SVA Theater.

"The World is Funny" (Ha'Olam Mazchik), a film by Shemi Zarhin, integrates funny, poignant tales from a writer's workshop in the director's hometown of Tiberius. The film will be introduced by Honorable Consul General of Israel in New York Ido Aharoni and will conclude with a conversation with starring actor Asi Levi. An Opening Night reception will follow. Tickets cost $36 per person.

From April 11 through April 18, in the days leading up to Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israel Independence Day), the Israel Film Center honors Israel's film industry by screening films and hosting industry professionals at several locations throughout New York City.
