The Apollo Music Cafe's third season will continue the tradition of showcasing underground artists playing R&B, hip-hop, soul, jazz, pop, funk, and rock, giving independent artists a place to shine. Events will be held on Friday Feb. 1 and Saturday Feb. 2 starting at 10 p.m. to celebrate Black History Month.

Held in the Apollo's intimate Soundstage, the cafe features a bar, stage-side seating and a mix of poetry, comedy, spoken word and live DJs. Feb. 1 will feature Broadway singer  Rebecca Naomi Jones. On Feb. 2, singers Patrice Covington and B.Slade will be at the cafe.
