QUEENS — A man who was beaten during a fight with two men in front of his home in Ridgewood on Sunday has succumbed to his injuries, police said Friday.
Hugo Moreta, 56, was found lying on the sidewalk with blood coming out of his mouth after being punched by one of the attackers on Decatur Street between Cypress and Wyckoff avenues around 1:30 a.m., the NYPD said.
Moreta, who lived on the block, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition, but his injuries grew more severe and he died Thursday, police said.
The exact motive for the attack was unknown. Police did not have a suspect description.
