GREENPOINT — Help the city streamline North Brooklyn streets to improve car, pedestrian and bike traffic flow by logging your input online in a long-awaited North Williamsburg transportation study.

The Department of Transportation is asking for feedback online and in a series of public meetings in May for Greenpoint and Williamsburg residents about trouble intersections and odd traffic patterns they should focus on when planning better street layouts.

Since it went live in late March, North Brooklyn residents have already logged more than 300 ideas and concerns, with many highlighting issues along Kent Avenue and Meeker Avenue.

Many residents pinpointed concerns at two intersections in particular — the snarled and confusing three-way intersection of Nassau Avenue, Lorimer Street and Bedford Avenue at the edge of McCarren Park, and that of North 4th Street and Kent Avenue.

Commentators cited the need for better signals and bike lanes at the junction. They also pointed out that cars often double parked and cyclists blew through red lights there.

While you can log your own ideas and issues, you can also rate other people's suggestions until the portal closes at the end of April.
