FLATBUSH — A 26-year-old man is dead following a fatal shooting at a Saturday night soccer match in the neighborhood, police and reports said.
East New York resident Luis Gonzalez, 26, died from injuries from a gunshot wound to his torso just before midnight Saturday, police said. Gonzalez was shot in the chest by another man after he left a soccer game near Erasmus High School, according to reports.
Police found Gonzalez wounded at a gas station at Bedford and Church avenues near the Flatbush school, police officials said. He was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Gonzalez was the father of three, according to a report in the New York Post.
No suspects have been identified in the case as of Monday, the NYPD said, and the investigation is ongoing.
