WILLIAMSBURG —  Police are seeking a serial burglar who has targeted unlocked homes near North 7th Street in the early hours of the morning, according to police.

The string of burglaries date back to March 8 at 3:35 a.m. where two people opened the unlocked door of an apartment near the intersection of North 7 Street and Roebling Street, police said. The 35-year-old resident shouted when he heard the door open and the duo ran from the building, police said.

A day later at 4:30 a.m., the burglar, this time alone, crept into an unlocked apartment on North 7th Street and Kent Avenue and snuck into the bedroom of two 20-year-old women who lived there, police said.

The women told the burglar to leave and he ran, police said.

Then on March 18 at 1:30 a.m. near North 8th Street and Berry Street, the man struck again, this time managing to snatch a laptop, headphones and other electronics worth around $2,000, before running off, according to police. The man's apartment had been unlocked, he reported to police.

That same morning at 3:25 a.m., at North 7 Street and Wythe Avenue, the thief tried to get into a 28-year-old man's apartment by taking out a window air conditioner, but ran away when he realized the man was home, police said.

The burglar was captured on surveillance camera footage, police said, and was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and grey sneakers.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
