CRIME BLOTTER: 2 Men Slashed in Mugging on Empire Boulevard, Police Say

CROWN HEIGHTS — Two men were threatened and slashed by a pair of muggers who tried to steal one of their jackets, police said.

The men were on the corner of Empire Boulevard and Bedford Avenue at 3:15 p.m. on March 9 when the two suspects approached them and demanded one of the victim’s jacket vest.

When he refused to hand it over, the suspects cut both men multiple times on the hands, then fled the scene in a cab.

As they left, the car ran over one of the victim’s left foot; he was treated for his wounds at Kings County Hospital.

No arrest have been made in the assault and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

► Two men and a woman were arrested inside a Union Street building March 9 after police executed a search warrant and found a loaded Jimenez 9MM handgun and crack cocaine in their apartment. Winston Allen, 65, Marcus Lucas, 31, and Deanna Payton, 29, have been charged with criminal possession of a weapon and multiple drug charges, court records show.

► A cab driver was attacked by three men who came up to his car March 12 and stole his backpack. The man was driving on Sullivan Place near Franklin Avenue around 2 a.m. when three unknown men came up to the car, punched him in the face and forcibly removed his bag containing an iPhone, North Face jacket and his wallet with $200 in cash. The suspects fled eastbound on Sullivan Place.

► A cab driver was robbed by three men he had picked up at Port Authority on March 12. The victim said he stopped for the suspects around 4:20 a.m. One of the men told him to take them to Eastern Parkway, then changed his mind and said Montgomery Street. When the victim dropped them off on the street between Rogers and Nostrand avenues, one of the men jumped out from the backseat, opened the driver’s door and grabbed his bag containing his debit card, driver’s license, LIRR pass and iPhone. When he refused to let go, the suspect punched him repeatedly in the face, then fled with the stolen bag.
