Woman Suffers Life-Threatening Injury as Bike Hits Her on 14th Street: NYPD

MANHATTAN — A 62-year-old woman was critically injured when a cyclist hit her on West 14th Street on Wednesday night, an NYPD spokesman said.

The woman had just stepped out from between two parked cars mid-block near Sixth Avenue about 7 p.m. when the cyclist, 23, hit her with his aluminum road bike as he headed west in the right lane, police said.

They both tumbled to the ground, police said.

She suffered life-threatening injuries and was treated at Bellevue Hospital, where she's listed in critical condition, police said Thursday.

He was treated for minor injuries, police said.

The cyclist was not immediately arrested or charged, police said.
