MIDTOWN — Get ready for another threat of snow Thursday night into early Friday, as forecasters hint that NYC might be getting up to 4 inches.

Much like last week's threat of snow, which never materialized, the predicted cold snap comes after a stretch of warm temperatures, which topped out at 59 degrees Wednesday.

A low-pressure system over the Midwest is expected to move east Thursday night and strengthen off the coast, making for a hazardous Friday-morning commute, forecasters said.

“It starts overnight potentially with some light rain or a period of a mix of rain and snow, but it’s all snow by early Friday morning,” National Weather Service spokeswoman Faye Barthold said.

Those flakes could climb to four inches before tapering off by 3 p.m. Friday as the high for the day peaks at around 36 degrees, about 10 degrees below average, forecasters said.

A Canadian cold snap is expected to make for a frigid Friday night and weekend, though.

The low dips into the teens late Friday and then lingers below the freezing mark for much of Saturday and Sunday.

The high Saturday will be about 28 degrees, while Sunday hits just 34 degrees, forecasters said.
