BROOKLYN — A mugger was arrested Tuesday, nearly a year after he punched a man to the ground and stole his pants in Brownsville, NYPD officials said.

Julio Padilla, 26, who can be seen wearing a gray hoodie beside another man in a police photo released Wednesday, attacked the victim, 56, from behind near Livonia Avenue and Chester Street about 2:50 a.m. on April 22, police said.

Once the victim fell to the ground, Padilla and the other suspect stripped off his pants and ran away, police said.

Padilla and the other man he was with eventually took cash from the wallet and dropped it and the pants on the ground, police said.

Padilla, who lived about four blocks away, was arrested Tuesday and charged with robbery, petit larceny and assault, police said.

He's been arrested 11 times since 2007, most recently in November 2015, an NYPD spokesman said.

The man who was with Padilla was not considered a suspect in the case, the spokesman said. It wasn't immediately clear if he had been located by police by Thursday morning.
