Police Identify Suspect in Fatal Tompkins Avenue Bodega Shooting

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Police have identified the suspected gunman in a September deli shooting that killed one man and injured another.

Officials are searching for 22-year-old Maurice Hennegan for his involvement in the Sept. 28 shooting inside Three Stars Deli & Grocery on Tompkins Avenue and Hart Street.

Neil Thompson, 38, was fatally shot at the bodega, and a 64-year-old bystander was hit in the torso, police said.

Prior to the shooting, there was a fight between Hennegan and Thompson over a woman, police said.

Officials released a photo of the suspect on Friday and describe Hennegan as 5-foot-6, 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
