ST. GEORGE — The garage at the New York Wheel site will open for self-parking on Monday.

The first 820 spaces in the still under-construction lot originally opened in August for valet parking only.

Starting Monday, drivers can park their own vehicles 24 hours a day in those spaces, developers said.

An entrance and exit ramp on Nicholas Street and Richmond Terrace will also open.

Rates will remain $8 for daily parking and $100 for monthly spaces, according to the developers.

The opening of the garage's full 950-spaces was originally slated for December but was pushed back by developers because of safety concerns.

The lot is part of the $580 million New York Wheel project headed to Staten Island's waterfront that is expected to open in 2018
