VIDEO: Man's Pinky Hacked Off During Brutal Machete Attack, Police Say

NORWOOD — A man's pinky was hacked off when a trio of suspects armed with machetes and a knife attacked him, police said.

The assault took place on Saturday around 11:10 p.m. inside 3029 Briggs Ave., where the 25-year-old victim suffered multiple severe cuts to his arms and legs and had his left pinky cut off, according to the NYPD.

The suspects fled the building, and the victim was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition, according to police.

Video shows the three suspects running through a building with their blades.

Officers described the suspects as three men in their 20s. One was last seen in a blue and white jacket, a blue baseball hat and white sneakers; one was last seen in a blue jacket, a dark baseball hat, white pants and black sneakers; and one was last seen in a black T-shirt, dark pants and white sneakers with his hair in a ponytail, police said.

The motive behind the attack is unclear, according to the NYPD.
