Burglar Breaks into Building for a Box of Toilet Paper and a Heater: NYPD

By Camille Bautista | November 30, 2016 3:43pm

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A man forced his way into two Fulton Street buildings and took off with alcohol, towels and toilet paper, police said.

The suspect first broke into a second-floor unit at 1486 Fulton St. near Kingston Avenue around 4 a.m. on Nov. 17, shattering the glass on the front door, police said.

He took off with a portable heater and a box of toilet paper, fleeing on foot.

Later that day, around 11 p.m. he went into a fourth-floor apartment near Fulton and Kingston, gaining entry through a roof door, according to officials.

The burglar grabbed six bottles of alcohol, a stereo, a dozen towels and three bed sheets, police said.

Police released video of the suspect on Tuesday and said he was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt.

Details were released just this week because police had a delay getting video surveillance, an NYPD spokesman said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stopper’s Hotline at 800-577-TIPS(8477).
