DUMBO — A group of local moms is calling on DUMBO residents to “Stand for Love” following last week’s election results.

Community members can get together this Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the lawn near Jane’s Carousel in Brooklyn Bridge Park for a night of patriotic songs, candle lighting and kids’ crafts.

The “Stand for Love” event aims to bring all residents together, no matter their political affiliation, according to organizer Tara Sparks.

“I believe in our community — we have amazing people here,” Sparks said. “I thought we needed something to unify us and get us all together.”

Sparks invited local politicians and religious leaders from both sides of the aisle to what she said will be a “non-political” event.

Performers from Music Together will lead the community in song, while local art studio Creatively Wild will provide arts and crafts activities for children.

The event’s organizers will hand out candles while the songs are played.

Sparks stressed that the event isn’t a rally, but an all-inclusive neighborhood gathering.

“We need something a little positive around here,” Sparks said.
