JACKSON HEIGHTS — A thief ran up behind an elderly woman and swiped her bag in broad daylight Wednesday, police said.
The suspect ran up behind the 84-year-old woman in front of 35-55 80th St. at 11:45 a.m., and grabbed her purse from her hand. He fled south on 80th Street, police said.
She was uninjured in the attack, but he took off with her cellphone, MetroCard and approximately $200 in cash in her bag, according to the NYPD.
The suspect is approximately 18 to 25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches and 150 pounds, and was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, camouflage pants and white sneakers.
