Man Found With Credit Card Skimmer During Jaywalking Stop, Police Said

CROWN HEIGHTS — A man stopped for jaywalking was charged with dozens of counts of forgery after police discovered he was carrying a credit card printing machine, forged checks and a skimming device, the NYPD said.

Police said Justin Ebron, 23, was crossing Maple Street at Troy Avenue at 2:45 a.m. on Nov. 1, when he was stopped by an officer, who asked if he was carrying any weapons.

Ebron said he had a knife in his pocket.

When officers searched him, they found multiple forged credit cards, checks, a credit card “embroiderer,” a laptop, printing device and skimming machine used to steal credit and debit card information, the NYPD said.

Police released a photo of the confiscated items on Tuesday. The man was arrested by officers in the new NCO (Neighborhood Coordination Officer) community policing program, the precinct said.

The man was being held on $50,000 bail, court records show. His representative from the Legal Aid Society could not be reached for comment on the charges.

The above incident is part of DNAinfo’s weekly crime blotter made from reports to the 71st Precinct in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, Crown Heights and East Flatbush.
