Man Steals $40K From Credit Card Accounts, NYPD Says

NEW YORK CITY — Police are looking for a man they say has ripped off numerous credit cards' account information to make $40,000 worth of withdrawals throughout the city.

The suspect's spree began on April 14, and has lasted at least until July 9 as customers were informed their accounts had been compromised, according to the NYPD. Police say there have been 37 incidents during that time period.

In one instance on July 9, a man, 39, from Staten Island, was told by bank representatives his credit card number was compromised and then used to withdraw $800 at a Bank of America at 675 Third Ave., police said.

The suspect is described as 23 to 35 years old, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, and has a beard. He was last seen wearing a black and white baseball cap, a white long sleeve shirt, a black shirt and he wore glasses.
