ELMHURST — A 33-year-old man was arrested after he tried to lure a girl away from her apartment building while she waited for the school bus, police said.
Jaime Arias, from Jackson Heights, was arrested Wednesday and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
He allegedly approached a 13-year-old girl the morning of Oct. 6 and tried to get her to leave her building on 81st Street, near 41st Avenue, police said.
She ran off when her bus came, and he also fled, according to the NYPD.
It's not clear if Arias has any prior arrests. He was awaiting arraignment Thursday, officials said.
