MIDTOWN — A caller with an Arizona number warned a Waldorf Astoria phone operator that a bomb would go off inside the iconic hotel just days after the Chelsea bombing, the NYPD said.

A 64-year-old phone operator at the Waldorf Astoria hotel at 301 Park Ave. told police she received the call around 11:55 p.m. on Sept. 23 informing her that a bomb was going to detonate.

“My name is Pablo, and a bomb will go off in a few minutes,” the caller said, according to police.

The operator transferred the call to the hotel's security office, at which point the caller hung up, the NYPD said.

Police and hotel security personnel swept the building and didn’t find any suspicious packages, police said.

The hotel did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.
