QUEENS — Swedish clothing giant H&M will soon open its first location in the heart of the Jamaica shopping district, the company confirmed.

The retailer recently signed a 35,000-square-foot lease in a complex that's being built in place of 160-08, 160-16 and 161-02 Jamaica Ave., as first reported by the New York Post.

The property is owned by United American LandBurlington Coat Factory also signed on as a tenant of the new building in August.

“H&M is always searching for the best new store locations," the company said in an email Tuesday. "We look forward to sharing future store locations with both new and existing customers."

H&M did not provide any further details about the project.

DNAinfo New York first reported in December 2013 that the retailer was eyeing the complex to open its outpost.

H&M has only one other location in Queens — at the Queens Center Mall.

"With 8,000 students at York College and St. John's nearby H&M is a welcome addition to the blend of retail ... in downtown Jamaica," said Rhonda Binda, executive director of the Jamaica Center Business Improvement District. "I'm personally excited that a global brand like H&M has finally landed here."

Burlington Coat Factory is slated to open in the spring of 2017.
