BROWNSVILLE — A 22-year-old mother was stabbed to death in Brownsville while pushing her son in a stroller early Tuesday morning, sources said.

Joann Beauzier, who lived on Sutter Avenue, was walking with her 9-month-old child near Lott Avenue and Bristol Street at about 12:40 a.m. when Shenia Williams, 20, got into an argument with her, according to sources and reports.

Williams stabbed Beauzier in the chest, officials said.

Police could not immediately provide further information on the dispute between Beauzier and her attacker.

Emergency responders rushed Beauzier, who lived on Sutter Avenue, to Brookdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, officials said.

The baby was not injured in the attack, according to the New York Post.

Williams, who lived nearby on Saratoga Avenue, was arrested Tuesday and arraigned Wednesday on charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon, officials said.

She admitted to stabbing Beauzier, prosecutors said, and was remanded without bail.

Attorney information for Williams was not immediately available. She is due back in court on Sept. 19, officials said.
