MORRISANIA — The lord got looted in the South Bronx.

A thief strolled into the Inspirational Gospel Assembly at 1211 Brook Ave. around 8 p.m. Sept. 1, snatched the church's only electric piano, and walked out, according to police and the pastor.

"To go into a church and steal from the church...that is really sad," said Pastor Joseph Kuffour, who added that the stolen electric piano was the only one the church had, and it has been more difficult to conduct services now that it is gone.

"It is very important for every church to have a piano/organ in the church to help the musicians to be able to praise and worship the lord," he said.

The suspect was caught on video casually walking around inside the church, according to surveillance footage released by the NYPD.

Police described the suspect as a man who stands 6 feet tall, weighs 170 pounds and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, brown work boots, black pants and a gray baseball hat.

Kuffour said he felt bad for the thief and is praying that he will have a change of heart and bring it back.

"I feel so sad for the person, that he doesn’t know exactly what he’s doing and the consequences that happen after," he said.
