MOTT HAVEN — The upcoming video series "South Bronx Cribs" is still about $2,000 short of its fundraising goal with slightly more than 24 hours to go.

The project, which is being run by the non-profit arts organization ID Studio, will teach Mott Haven residents to produce and star in videos shot in the style of "MTV Cribs" that focus on their homes, families and histories.

Participants will show off their films at ID Studio and Bronx ArtSpace, and the studio is renting equipment for the project from Mott Haven's Ghetto Film School.

Organizers launched a Kickstarter campaign on Sept. 9 to raise $18,706 in support of the project, and the campaign has so far raised $16,413 toward its goal.

If the campaign does not reach its $18,706 goal by 4 p.m. on Sept. 9, it will not get any of the funding, per Kickstarter's rules.

Project Director Lucia della Paolera said "South Bronx Cribs" will go on regardless of whether or not it gets the Kickstarter money. The project has already received funding from grants, but not having the additional funding from Kickstarter would force them to significantly reconfigure the program.
