STAPLETON — A man was found dead inside the bathroom of a Staten Island shelter, police said.

The 53-year-old man — whose name is being withheld by police — was found unconscious inside the bathroom of Project Hospitality's O’Callaghan House, at 103 Targee St., at 9:14 p.m. Tuesday, the NYPD said.

EMS workers pronounced the man dead at the scene, police said.

The O'Callaghan House is a transitional facility for homeless people who are "seriously and persistently mentally ill and chemically addicted," according to Project Hospitality's website.

No arrests have been made and the medical examiner will determine the cause of death, police said.
