ASTORIA — A man punched a 14-year-old boy in the face during a mugging in Queens last month, police said.

The suspect approached the victim from behind near Astoria Boulevard and 44th Street just before 8 a.m. on July 26, and punched him and demanded his property, police said.

The boy turned over his iPhone 4 and $7 to the thief, who then fled east across 44th Street, according to police.

The man is described as between 20 and 25 years old, 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds. He had a beard and was wearing a dark shirt, white pants and black sneakers, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
