HELL'S KITCHEN — History is happening on the West Side — and a group of high school students have documented it all for your listening pleasure.

The New York Public Library has published interviews with nearly two-dozen people who live and work in Hell's Kitchen and Times Square on its “Community Oral History Project" website.

The "Naked Cowboy" Robert Burck, Hudson Yards/Hell’s Kitchen Alliance executive director Robert Benfatto and Clinton Community Garden gardener Deborra Mullins are among those who shared their stories for the project.

Nearly 20 high school students conducted interviews with volunteers from the neighborhood last month

"Our goal is to celebrate, preserve, and document... neighborhood history through these audio interviews," the NYPL wrote on its website.

Stories will be preserved at the Milstein Division for U.S. History, Local History and Genealogy, "for current and future generations to learn from and explore," according to the library's website.
