CROWN HEIGHTS — A man who threw a lit cigarette at a 4-year-old girl last month at the Utica Avenue train station is being sought by police, the NYPD said.

The incident happened just after 9 p.m. on July 13 on the southbound platform of the 3 and 4 trains at the Crown Heights-Utica Avenue subway station, police said, where the male suspect threw the burning cigarette.

It hit the chest of the young girl, who was standing on the platform with her 25-year-old mother, police said.

The man fled the station on foot.

The girl felt pain from the cigarette and went with her mom to Interfaith Medical Center for observation, police said.

At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing blue jeans, a white polo shirt, red sneakers and a backpack. Police released an image of the man taken from surveillance footage inside the subway station.
