MIDTOWN — A caller using a police radio threatened to “put a bullet in [the] head” of a Midtown police captain twice in the past week, the NYPD said.

The police department first received an “unauthorized transmission” from an anonymous male caller asking to speak with a Midtown South Precinct captain around 5:42 p.m. on July 30, police said Friday.

“I’m gonna put a bullet in your head. Come and find me — I’m right here in Times Square," the caller said, according to police. “Remember how you put me in jail?”

Three days later, around 8:58 p.m. on Tuesday, a caller police believe was the same man made another unauthorized call, police said.

“South captain, south captain, I’m gonna put a bullet in your head,” the caller said, according to police.

The caller did not address any specific captain by name, the NYPD said.

NBC New York reported the caller also threatened to kill the captain’s mother, although police could not confirm that information Friday.

Police are looking into the possibility that the caller somehow obtained a “lost or stolen police scanner,” and said the man was “familiar with the lingo of radio calls,” NBC reported.

An investigation is ongoing, police said.
