You might want to take off your headphones in subway stations this Friday.

Musicians will perform the classical music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in three Manhattan stations on July 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., kicking off the 50th annual Mostly Mozart Festival, the MTA announced in a statement Tuesday. The program is a first-time collaboration between festival organizer Lincoln Center and MTA Music Under New York, which auditions and schedules musical acts in the city's subway system.

Performances by a string trio, a cellist, a harpist and the West Village Quartet will each take place simultaneously at the Times Square, Columbus Circle's Turnstyle market and Fulton Center stations. Each performer will play a two-hour set.

A free live video of the West Village Quartet and guest violinist Jim Graseck playing at Fulton Center will stream here.

The experience of listening to selections from "The Miracle of Salzburg" played underground will be far more transcendent if you're there, too, so be sure to get underground midday Friday.
