Man Tries to Rob Bank on Fulton Street, Police Say

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A man sporting a camouflage bucket hat attempted to rob a Bedford-Stuyvesant bank on Monday, police said.

The suspect entered the Chase Bank at 1380 Fulton St. near Marcy Avenue around 1:15 p.m., officials said.

After approaching a bank teller, the man passed a note demanding money, but fled after the worker moved away to alert a manager, according to police.

The suspect fled empty-handed in an unknown direction, officials said.

He was last seen wearing sunglasses with a black and white shirt, gray pants and a camouflage hat, and is described as 40 years old, 5 feet tall and weighing 140 pounds.
