CROWN HEIGHTS — Police are looking for a woman they say threatened a man with a hammer on the subway last week.

The female suspect was riding the 5 train southbound through Crown Heights around 11:00 a.m. last Thursday when she approached the 30-year-old man, pulled a hammer out of her bag and told him “to ‘step’ in a threatening manner,” police said in a public alert about the incident.

The woman then left the train car when it arrived at the Franklin Avenue train station, police said. No one was injured during the incident.

On Wednesday, the police department released a photo taken from surveillance footage at Franklin Avenue that shows the woman wearing a hat and sunglasses on her head and gold hoop earrings.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, (888) 57-PISTA (74782).
